DUBLIN, Ohio (April 23, 2010) – Attorney and community leader Stephanie McCloud, corporate counsel for the CompManagement Partner Companies, has been named to the Class of 2010 Forty Under 40 by Columbus Business First in recognition of her professional achievements and dedication to public service.
McCloud brought a wealth of experience in Ohio state government and public administration when she joined CompManagement Partner Companies three years ago. Her first job after graduating from Capital University Law School was as legal counsel for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC), where she was awarded an Administrator’s Certificate of Appreciation. At only 26 years old she was recruited to serve as one of our four legal counsels to the governor of Ohio. Following several promotions, McCloud was recruited to the position of chief counsel to the state attorney general at age 35.
More recently, CompManagement, Inc. named McCloud its representative to the Service Association of Ohio, a statewide organization addressing workers’ compensation industry issues. This year she was also appointed by the Ohio state senate to the Competitive Workers’ Compensation Task Force.
McCloud played an integral role in CompManagement, Inc.’s charitable donation of a 2010 Honda Accord in honor of the company’s 25 years of serving Ohio employers. She worked closely with BWC officials to arrange for the vehicle, which was presented to The James Cancer Hospital earlier this month, to be on display at Safety Congress, Ohio’s largest occupational safety and health event.
“Stephanie McCloud is an invaluable asset to our team,” said Mary Beth Sanford, senior vice president of CompManagement, Inc. “Her extensive knowledge of the workers’ compensation environment in Ohio enables all of us to do our jobs better. Her diligence ensures that we comply with all BWC rulings and issue only positive, factual statements about CompManagement’s service offerings, thus setting us apart in the competitive marketplace. Stephanie is a role model for ethical leadership in our organization and the entire community.”
McCloud hails from a background of dedication to public service and working to improve her community. She serves as first lady of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, where she resides with her husband, Mayor Brad McCloud. Stephanie was also a member of the Reynoldsburg Design Review Board for 10 years. She has worked on state and local electoral campaigns for nearly two decades and was a candidate for treasurer of Franklin County in 2008. McCloud currently sits on the board of directors of Maryhaven, Central Ohio’s oldest and most comprehensive facility specializing in treatment for people with alcohol and drug dependencies.
Each year, Business First recognizes 40 Columbus-area residents under the age of 40 who have demonstrated outstanding professional development and made a difference in the local community. McCloud was selected from among 312 applications as one of the 2010 honorees.
